Listening closely to their stories shapes my understanding of what needs to change and guides my work in the State Senate. Parents I meet often express how difficult it is to find affordable, quality childcare. Many work long hours but struggle to secure safe places for their children during the day. One mother shared how she spends nearly half her paycheck on daycare, leaving little for other essentials. This is a common story across the district.

Education is another top concern. Families want schools that prepare their children for the future, but many worry about overcrowded classrooms and limited resources. Teachers are dedicated but stretched thin, and parents want more support for special education and after-school programs.

These conversations highlight the need for policies that:

Small business owners are the backbone of our community. I visit shops, restaurants, and service providers to hear about their experiences. Many face rising costs for rent, supplies, and insurance. Some struggle to find skilled workers, while others worry about competition from larger chains.
